August Black Hills Fishing! Fly Fishing Photo Extravaganza

Fishing continues to be good across the Black Hills. Here are some photos from our outings and guided trips from the past couple of weeks. Don't miss out on the excellent water conditions we have this summer. Fishing will be great into the Fall. We have the best late summer water conditions we can remember. Fishing is good from the southern Black Hills up north to Spearfish. Nymph fishing has been great, and is probably responsible for most of the fish caught. Dry fly fishing is getting better and better. PMDs, Tricos, Pale Evening Duns, Caddis, and small Baetis are hatching. Terrestrials are improving. Ants and beetles have been the best. Hoppers work in some places better than others- Castle Creek and Rapid Creek below Pactola. If you want to fish streamers, they have been working well in Rapid Creek and Spring Creek.

Need a little help on the water? Try hiring one of our talented guides for a half or full day. You will learn a ton and have a great day on quality Black Hills water. Give us a call at the shop to book your trip - 605-341-2450.
