New Saltwater Fly Fishing Gear Videos!

We had a great trip to the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico last month, and have finally gotten around to editing a few videos we took of some of the new products on the market for saltwater anglers. Saltwater fly fishing is especially hard on gear, and sub-par equipment typically shows itself pretty quickly. We tried out some new Saltwater fly fishing gear on the market, as well as a few old favorites and filmed a few short videos about each of our favorite items. Short review of the Simms Zipit II saltwater bootie. We had a group in the Yucatan for a week, and all of them fished in these boots and loved them. Lightweight, durable, and easy to put on and take off. If you're headed to the salt, definitely take a look at the Simms Zipit II Bootie! Quick overview of the new Simms Solarflex Armor fishing shirt. If you're out in the sun frequently while you're fishing, you definitely need to have good sun protection. The Solarflex Armor keeps you protected with the built-in gaiter and sun hood! Short review of the Scott Meridian saltwater fly rod. We fished the 9 weight for baby Tarpon on our last trip, and were very impressed! Lots of power without being super stiff. If you're looking for a new saltwater fly rod, definitely take a look at the Scott Meridian series. Quick review of the new Sage Spectrum Max reel. Perfect reel for saltwater flats fishing! Incredibly durable, fully sealed drag with 40 detents, and smooth fish-stopping power. Awesome reel for saltwater fishing as well as heavy duty freshwater duty! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9VmelHOnSk Short review of the new RIO Flats Pro Saltwater fly line. We fished the StealthTip version of the Flats Pro on our trip to the Yucatan, and found it to be an excellent line for saltwater flats fishing. You can use a much shorter leader with the StealthTip version, which is very helpful when you're fishing in the ever-present wind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y25ly2B9xKI Quick overview of the Echo EPR fly rod. We found the EPR to be a fantastic fly rod for saltwater flats fishing, and a great warmwater and pike rod locally as well! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDBeEmjUEOQ Short review of the the new Sage Salt HD fly rod. We fished the 8 weight Salt HD on our last trip to the Yucatan, and had a ton of fun fishing it for bonefish! Lots of power to punch casts into the wind, but enough give to make a short 15 foot short with confidence and accuracy. If you're looking for a new Saltwater rod, definitely check out the Sage Salt HD! Look for a trip overview post coming soon as well!
